Our network of safety – ASIST

July 29, 2025

This is what change looks like and we couldn’t be prouder.

20 amazing people from across our racing family just completed the first-ever OnTrack to ASIST suicide intervention skills training.

We know it’s hard to take two days out of our busy lives but they stepped up, because they care, because saving lives matters, and we look after our own.

Racing has now created its first network of safety, built by us, for us and for everyone in our community.

In just 9 months, this industry-led movement is shifting the culture, one connection, one conversation, and one life at a time.  This is how we move toward a thriving industry, by standing together, looking out for each other, and strengthening the heart of our racing family. Everyone has a part to play.

Massive thanks to Caroline & Kate from A-OK NZ , and to the global leaders LivingWorks Australia  for your support and world-class training.  And to New Zealand Bloodstock thank you for hosting us!

Help create a safer, more supportive racing industry

ASIST is a globally recognised, evidence-based workshop that helps you recognise when someone might be at risk of suicide, respond with confidence and care, and support them to stay safe whilst connecting them to help.
